| According to Steven Marcus, manager of Grateful Dead Ticket Sales 1983-1996: "...when the crowd outside Deer Creek rushed and tore down the back fence, ALL news reports stated that the police used "tear gas" to disperse the crowd. I was there, a few police used those small pocket size mace and sprayed a few dozen of the people. At no time did the police throw tear gas at the crowd. Yes, I know that technically mace is a form of tear gas, but come on!" |
